Dr. Wickham obtained his MD degree from UBC in 1982.  He then did a rotating internship at Scarborough General Hospital before starting general practice in Toronto.  He subsequently was accepted into an orthopedics residency at UBC and became a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1989.  After completing his orthopedics residency, he underwent subspecialty training in hand and upper limb surgery at the University of Western Ontario in London, ON.  He opened his orthopedics practice in Chilliwack in 1991 and had an active general orthopedic practice as well as being appointed Chief of Surgery and eventually Chief of Staff at Chilliwack General Hospital.  Dr. Wickham had the opportunity to work in the United Arab Emirates and relocated there in 2000.  While in the UAE he had an active orthopedic and trauma practice until returning to the Fraser Valley in 2006.  He now works extensively in Abbotsford and continues to provide trauma coverage for hand and general orthopedic injuries as well as providing care of elective patients with a focus on upper extremity and sports related injuries.
